The mission of the Houston Philanthropy Circle is to empower philanthropists with networking opportunities amongst their peers as well as to introduce nonprofits to this donor community.
Formed by several philanthropists and foundations, we believe in the impact philanthropists can make when partnering together to make a difference.
Founded in 2019, the Houston Philanthropy Circle is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Houston, Texas.

What We Do
Three ways the Circle creates impact
We convene, we vet, and we introduce — always in a no-pressure environment that protects the privacy of every philanthropist in the room.
Philanthropist Dinners
Our first Philanthropist Dinner took place in April 2019. These dinners are an opportunity for like-minded philanthropists to socialize and share their experiences and visions for philanthropy in Houston.
Nonprofit Symposium
Our annual nonprofit symposia allow philanthropists to get to know a large number of faith-based nonprofits all in one day in a no-pressure environment — a safe space for philanthropists and nonprofit representatives alike.
Giving Circles
Focused gatherings on the issues facing our city — from community mental health to human trafficking — where experts and funders explore what meaningful solutions look like in practice.
University of St. Thomas
The Symposium
Twenty-four missions. One afternoon.
We hosted our first Nonprofit Symposium at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas which was highly successful and brought together philanthropists with 24 faith-based non-profits presenting their mission in areas of Education, Healthcare, Family & Faith and Social Services & Resiliency.
While partnering with many philanthropic groups, our mission is to bring more philanthropists together to make a transformative difference in these nonprofits who are reaching out to the underserved in the Houston–Galveston region.

Maurine Molak
Maurine co-founded David’s Legacy Foundation in 2016 after her 16-year-old son, David, died by suicide after experiencing months of relentless and threatening cyberbullying. The year prior to his death, David struggled with an addiction to social media and online gaming, which led to severe anxiety and depression.
